Idania del Río is a Cuban graphic designer, artist, and creative director based in Havana. Her work explores the intersection of graphic design, contemporary art, fashion, and Cuban visual culture, focusing on themes of identity, memory, and everyday life in Cuba.
She is the co-founder and creative director of Clandestina, an independent design brand from Havana known for combining graphic design, fashion, and cultural production. Clandestina is widely recognized as one of the most influential independent design projects in Cuba and a pioneering example of creative entrepreneurship on the island.
Del Río’s work integrates typography, illustration, posters, objects, publications, and textile pieces, creating a distinctive visual language that blends humor, social commentary, and contemporary design.
Her projects have been featured in international exhibitions, publications, and design platforms focused on visual culture, independent design, and the creative economy.
In 2024, Idania del Río was selected for the BBC “100 Women” list, recognizing the most influential and inspiring women around the world.
